Re: Asthma & H1N1 Flu
Information & Resources
In
light of recent H1N1 reports, the Asthma Initiative of Michigan (AIM), in
collaboration with the Michigan Department of Education, Michigan Association
School Administrators, and the Michigan Association of School Boards, is
striving to provide the most current information and resources regarding the
additional risk faced by people with asthma from the H1N1 flu.
We encourage
all K-12 Superintendents to read the resource page from the Centers for Disease
Control (CDC) (see link below), and share it with your district families to
help clarify any misconceptions. The
resource page provides accurate information on the potential effects of H1N1
flu for persons with asthma, with helpful tips and resources for prevention and
treatment.
Your
school community will benefit from increased awareness and education regarding
asthma and H1N1. Additional information
