Dear
Parent/Guardian:
Adequate school
funding is becoming more crucial to our students’ education. Linden Community Schools is trying to develop
a network of concerned citizens to voice support at the state level. During our most recent Budget Advisory
Committee meeting, an idea was brought forward to contact our elected officials,
using email, about school funding. As
few as ten emails make a large impact on their knowledge of constituent
beliefs.
If
you volunteer, you would periodically receive an email containing key
information about Senate Bills and/or House Bills that are currently being
debated on the floor and affect educational funding. Also included would be a link that would
allow you to easily send the state legislators in your area an email expressing
your concerns. Suggested replies are easily
generated, but you can also type your own opinion to speak to the topic more
specifically.
The
entire process literally takes less than three minutes and makes it easy to stay
abreast of key educational funding issues and to comment on them to our state
legislators. If you would like to volunteer for this information, please return this
letter to your building principal (or send an email) with your email address
printed clearly. You can also register
at our website www.lindenschools.org.
We will only send you information pertaining
to school funding and you can remove yourself from the list at anytime.
We
urge you to help make education funding a top priority for our state
legislators.
Thank
you for your consideration,
Ed
