Procedures for Walkers at Linden Elementary

1. Cross the Street when the crossing guard blows the whistle.
2. Bikers cross before the walkers.
3. School begins at 8:30 a.m.  Breakfast is served at 8:15 a.m.  Please do not arrive at school before these times.
4. Students should not arrive at the traffic light in town before 8:10 a.m.
5. Stand back from the street and behind the safety patrols.
6. Students need to go directly from home to school and from school to home.
7. If a student is going somewhere other than immediately home after school, they need to have a not signed by the school office.
8. For your child's safety, please pick them up at the school, not while walking home.
9. Walk while crossing the street.
10. Bikers must walk their bikes while crossing street, DPW driveway, all alleys, and side streets.
11. Students should not:
    Play at the dam.
    Return to the school while walking home.
    Swing on the green bar at Bridge Street in front of the school.
    Arrive to school too early.
    Run while crossing the streets.
    Hurt other children either through actions or words.
    Climb on the bars in front of the school at the Broad Street Crossing.
12. Watch for police cars and fire trucks.
13. Follow the school rules.  You are responsible for your actions while walking to school and returning home.
14. Respect all individuals including the safety officers and safety patrols.  They are there for your protection and help.
15. Following these guidelines and procedures will help everyone go to school and return home safely.
