P.E

Mr. Kargel

A child's intellectual growth cannot take place without having met his or her basic physical needs. The curriculum for every child's preschool through high school experience should include the opportunity to participate in daily, quality, physical education programs.

Quality physical education programs positively impact students' physical, social, and mental health. It is the unique role of quality physical education programs to provide opportunities for children to understand the importance of physical activity and to acquire skills to combat a sedentary lifestyle.

Linden Community Schools has adopted and successfully implemented the Michigan Exemplary Physical Education Curriculum (MI-EPEC). EPEC provides materials and instructional methods to deliver systematic, outcomes-based physical education programs.

The program objectives included in EPEC are consistent with content standards and benchmarks proposed by both the National Association for Sports and Physical Education (NASPE) and the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)
