Welcome to Linden High School where tradition is
strong. So strong, people can’t stay away. As a 1991 graduate of
Linden High School, I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to return to
my alma mater to continue my career in education. My interest in
education, that Linden Community Schools created, grew as an undergraduate at
Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA. While at Mercyhurst, I earned a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Social Science Secondary Education. I was also a member of the
Mercyhurst Hockey Team, where in 1994-95 we won the ECAC and reached the finals
of the NCAA Ice Hockey Tournament.
Upon graduation from Mercyhurst in 1997, I continued my
career as a professional hockey player, playing for the Saginaw Lumberkings of
the United Hockey League. In 1998 I received by first position in education;
teaching 8th grade Social Studies at Saranac Middle School in Saranac, MI. In
1999 I moved to Owosso, MI to teach Economics and Social Science at Owosso High
School. Following two great years at Owosso, I took a position at Linden High
School as a Social Science teacher and coach of the Varsity Hockey Team. During
my classroom instructional career at Linden, I received my Masters Degree in
Educational Administration from Central Michigan University.
In 2003 I took the position of Athletic Director/Assistant
Principal at Linden High School. In 2005 I chose to move into the Assistant
Principal position to further my educational leadership experience. It was
at this time when I knew that my final goal would be to become principal of the
high school that I once to attended.
In my current position as principal my goal is to support
our instructional programs, athletic programs and community events - and propel
them to the next level of success. This includes creating a continuing
education environment for the staff and especially students. Our building
is a student centered place where kids can grow and relish in the tradition
that still exists in all facets of our school. I am honored to give back
to a school district which has afforded me a great education, and more
importantly the foundation and tradition to become a successful member of this
community.
