SAT Reasoning
(Formerly SAT 1)
The SAT Reasoning Test contains three sections: Writing, critical reading, and math. It is given several time during the year. Students must pick up an application packet in the Counseling Office, fill it out and mail it to the College Board. This test is required by a few out of state schools, but not all. Students can check on college websites, in the Career Resource Center, or by stopping by the Counseling Office to find out if it is required by their specific school. SAT Subject Tests
(Formerly SAT 2)
The SAT Subject Tests measure knowledge in specific subjects within five general categories: English, math, history, science, and languages. Some very competitive colleges require these subtests to be taken. Students can check individual college websites or in the Counseling Office to find out which schools require these tests. These tests are given several times a year and registration packets can be picked up in the Counseling Office. For more information go to the website www.collegeboard.org
