We Love Our Volunteers

Linden Elementary will honor our volunteers with a luncheon on Friday, May 23rd from 10:50 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.  We can’t say enough about the wonderful parents, grandparents, and members of our community who help us in so many ways.  Thank you for all your support. Please come and enjoy!

Class Lists

During the month of May we will be determining class assignments for next year.  Our primary concern is providing a quality education that meets the needs of all our students in well-balanced, diverse classrooms.  We consider skill development, boy/girl ratio, relationship with other students, special needs, and learning and teaching styles.  We gather information from your child’s previous classroom teachers and any specialized personnel who have worked with your child.

The class lists for next year will be posted June 30th.

Books and School Supplies

Please look around your house for any school textbooks, library books or school materials; it’s never too late to return them to school.  The cost to replace textbooks rises each year.  Thanks!

Last Day of School

The question of how to make up time due to several snow days this year has been resolved. Starting Monday, May 5th, our school day will be extended by seven minutes.  This means school will end at 3:43 p.m.  Our last day of school will be Thursday, June 12th, with students being dismissed at 1:00 p.m.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Medication

If your child has medication at school, be sure to come into the office on or before the last day of school to collect inhalers, Epi-pens, or over the counter medications.  These will be disposed of by June 16th.

Field Trips

It’s that time of year again!  Please remember to check your child’s weekly newsletter for field trip information such as departure time, lunch info., etc.   If they will be attending an outdoor activity, please check the weather and send appropriate clothing.  Also, it is important to know that all field trips are paid for in advance, so this doesn’t allow for refunds if your child or chaperone is unable to attend.

Spring Dress Code

Remember, tank tops, bare midriffs, short shorts and flip-flops are not allowed in school. Students should apply the “finger tip test” to shorts, skirts and skorts.

LINDEN COMMUNITY SCHOOLS’ SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH BEGINS COMMUNITY ASKED FOR INPUT
