Welcome!  I want this to be a very successful year for everyone and I believe the following information will be helpful.  Feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions or concerns.  My available conference time is 9:12 – 10:07 A.M.

The following areas will be covered in your child’s language arts class:

grammar/punctuation                 eight parts of speech

          vocabulary skills                       library/study skills

          expository writing                     narrative writing

persuasive writing                     outlining/works cited

author studies                                     literature genres that include:

                                                          fiction       non-fiction

                                                                   plays          poetry

                                                                   novels        myths

The materials needed for my class are simple – something to write with, a 3-ring binder, and their planner.

Class Rules/Expectations

1. Follow directions the first time given.
2. Keep hands, feet, and objects to self.
3. One person talks at a time in a positive manner.
4. Students will be in their seats with materials out when class begins.
5. Students are to remain seated until dismissed.
