Superintendent’s Message…. Welcome to Linden Community Schools! Welcome to the Linden Community School District web site. Whether you are considering a move to our area or are currently a resident and just want to know more about your local school district, we hope your exploration of the site will help you learn about our schools and the excellent programs and services we offer. It will also help you keep aware of events during the year. Linden Community Schools has a long tradition of excellence. We have a child and family oriented community that cares deeply about the education of our children. That caring has resulted in a strong partnership that enables our district to develop and implement innovative educational programs to help prepare our students to succeed in the changing world and workplace. We are equally proud of the quality of our staff who provide instruction, leadership and support in the Linden School District. Each school building has a school improvement team as well as dedicated parent groups who devote valuable time and assistance to our students and staff. There are also active district-wide athletic, band and academic booster groups. As well, we have vocational programs and adult education, offered on the Southern Lakes campus, and a variety of programs for seniors, adults and children offered through Community Education. These opportunities are available to all area residents. The Linden Community School District covers approximately 50 square miles within Genesee and Livingston Counties. The district includes the city of Linden and Argentine, Deerfield, Fenton, Gaines, Mundy and Tyrone townships and is governed by a seven member Board of Education, elected by district residents. We are also fortunate to have two high school student representatives who serve on the Board. Our student population is approximately 3100 in four elementary schools (Argentine, Central, Hyatt and Linden), Linden Middle School and Linden High School. Please visit each school’s web page to learn specific information about each school. The Linden Schools community is a great place to learn, live, and work! I will be happy to talk to you directly if you do not find what you’re looking for at this site. You are always welcome to call (810) 591-0980, write or stop in and visit our Administration Building at 7205 W. Silver Lake Road, Linden MI, 48451 (located behind the high school) or contact any building principal or the Community Education office for further information. We welcome your interest and active participation. Dr. Elizabeth Leonard Superintendent |
