Scott has lived in the Linden Community School district since 2001. He moved to the area with his wife Jennifer, daughter Morgan (Class of 2011) and son Collin (Class of 2014). A longtime resident of the Flint area and graduate of Swartz Creek High School and the University of Michigan – Flint, he was drawn to the area for its small town atmosphere, the strong sense of community and excellent quality of education within the schools. He and his family found more than a place to live in Linden, they found a community where they were welcomed and could grow through their involvement in a variety of activities and opportunities, giving back to the community they call home.
A strong believer in service to others, his philosophy is that the greatest impact we can have on the course of our lives is being actively involved at the local level. His desire to help ensure our children have access to the highest quality education led him to Linden’s Board of Education where he was first elected in 2008. In addition to his service to the District, Scott remains active in the community and supports our Eagle Athletes in various capacities including public address announcer. He is a combat veteran and recently retired from the U.S Marine Corps with the rank of Colonel after 30 years of service and manages security and protective services for a corporation in the Detroit area.
Steve Murphy has served on the Linden Board of Education since 2002. He has been a Linden resident all his life.
Mike Murphy has been on the Linden Community Board of Education since 2002. He has lived in the Linden Community all his life and can think of no other place he would rather be. He is a graduate of Linden High School class of 1982. Mike attended each school in the district during his childhood years with the exception of Argentine Elementary. He spent his summers as a child as an avid gardener and continues with that passion today. He also has a keen interest in inventing, designing and woodworking.
Mike and his wife Jackie have three children Kayla, Mallory, and Emily. Mike also is part owner of a 130 acre farm on Baldwin Rd in Gaines Township named Spooky Trails Farm, where they plant and sell pumpkins and other farm produce. Mike states it has been great to be part of the Linden Community Schools as it never ceases to amaze him of the distinctions and awards the children, staff and the district receive for exceptional performance.
Steve Losey and his family have lived in the Linden school district for 16 years. He and his wife Laura have been married for 25 years and have three children. Matthew and Megan have both graduated from Linden High School, and daughter Morgan will graduate in 2019.
Steve received Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education (Mental Impairments) from Eastern Michigan University in 1995. Then received Master’s Degree in Special Education (Learning Disabilities) from Eastern Michigan University in 2001. He has been a teacher for 24 years for Redford Union Public Schools where he teaches Special Education at the High School.
Michelle has lived in the Fenton/Linden area for most of her life, graduating from Lake Fenton Community Schools in 1993. She and her husband John have been married for 16 years and have two boys, John Patrick (JP) and Landon. Both boys attend Linden Middle School. Michelle currently works for McLaren Fenton. In her free time Michelle enjoys spending time with her boys and her family. She especially cherishes their time at the family cabin up north on Sanford Lake.
Michelle was elected to Linden’s Board of Education in November 2012. She has enjoyed her service especially meeting and working with so many great people. Michelle feels that she has already learned a great deal and is excited to see what the future has in store.
Jason Rowden and his family have lived in the Linden school district for 14 years. He and his wife Amy have been married for 17 years and have two great kids. They have a daughter Nora, who is in the sixth grade at Linden Middle School, and son Lucas is a freshman at Linden High School. Jason feels Linden is a great community with an outstanding school district. He is very happy his children are growing up and receiving an education here.
Jason has a BS in Business Administration, a degree in Mathematics, and a Master’s Degree in Education. He has been a teacher for 14 years for Howell Public Schools where he teaches Seniors Personal Finance at Howell High School.
Shari has lived in the Linden Community School district for many years, and graduated from Linden High School in 1996. She and her husband Norm have three children enrolled in Linden Schools– Mitchel (8th grade), Mason (4th grade), and Ryleigh (2nd grade). She enjoys attending and being deeply involved with her kid’s activities and sporting events, and treasures their family time, camping trips, and outdoor adventures together.
Shari has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan-Flint, and is currently enrolled in a Master of Science in Operations Management program through Kettering University. Shari has worked at Kettering University for 17 years, working currently with all freshman level students, as the First-year Experience Coordinator & Instructor, through the university’s Center for Integrated Learning Experiences. She brings her experience and passion for working with students, along with a leadership and management background to the board, and hopes to make a positive impact on Linden Schools, for many years to come.
