"Hello, I am Debbie McPherson, Director of Technology for Linden Community Schools. I have an Associates Degree in Data Processing, a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and an MBA. All of my degrees came from Baker College. I have worked for the district since 1989 performing a variety of assignments. I started as the Accounts Payable Clerk for seven years, and then became the Assistant Business Manager for six years. As Assistant Business Manager, technology became a part of my job. As you can understand technology has continued to grow at a very fast pace. In 2001, the district asked me to launch the first ever Technology Department for Linden Schools. It was a difficult decision to leave the business office, but it was a new opportunity and I looked forward to the challenge.
Technology has infiltrated every aspect of our daily lives. It is imperative for our teachers and students to have the tools they need to prepare themselves for this changing world and technology is one of the most important tools. I am cautious with new technology and do not jump on all of the latest bandwagons. It is essential to take a step back and make sure that the technology being offered will be a benefit to our students and staff before we implement and make changes to our current program. If you have any questions regarding technology in Linden Schools, please feel free to call me at 810 591-0715 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
