Linden Varsity Girls Soccer took on Holly tonight at home in their second league match of the week. The girls battled to the end leaving it all on the field. Several offensive chances would rise from their efforts but fell short of finding the back of the net. The Eagles would end the game in a 1 - 0 loss. MVP for the match goes to Emilee Sirls , one of out starting center backs. Emilee battled through the physicality of the game showing off her physical dominance over the opponent along with her newly forged speed. She went on to dominate any balls out of the error and created several goal scoring opportunities for us from over 30 yards out. Emilee even went on to put a beautiful shot on goal from over 40 yards away demonstrating she power and accuracy on the ball. The highlight of the match for her though would come late in the match when she would give a foul just outside our own 18 yard box while protecting our keeper. She then displayed amazing speed, bravery, and toughness shutting down the free kick from Holly so quickly that I'm not even sure they knew what happened or where she came from. Emilee or Sirls as I often call her continues to show strength, leadership, and control on the ball. We all can't wait to see her continue to grow and unlock her full potential. #LindenSoccer #EaglePride #ProgressNotPerfection
